A) Yes, our wire has UV protection. The amount of wear on the wire over the years depends on the location of the wire.

 

Q) Do we do direct burial cable?
A) We now have begun producing direct burial sound, fire, and coax cables, more information to come soon.

A) The Genesis Speedbag is a packaging coil encapsulated in a high density poly wrap. The cables pull freely, do no tangle, take up to 30% less space, are moisture resistant, and clean up is easy with no box to dispose of.

 

Q) Are there any plans for Category-7 cable?
A) At the present time there are no plans to pursue Cat-7 cable production.

 

Q) What is 10BASE-T?
A) 10BaseT refers to a data protocol established by TIA/EIA. It refers to a baseband data rate of 10 Megahertz wide. The "T" indicates the medium is "twisted pairs".

Q) What do the abbreviations CM, CL2, CL3, FPL, MP, PLTC, and CATV stand for?
A) CM stands for Communication wire and cables. CL2 and CL3 stand for Class 2 and Class 3 (respectively) remote-control, signaling, and power-limited cables. FPL stands for power-limited fire alarm cables. MP stands for multipurpose cables. PLTC stands for power-limited tray cable. CATV stands for Community Antenna Television Cable.

 

Q) What does UTP mean?
A) UTP refers to unshielded twisted pair.

 

Q) What does Riser rated cable mean?
A) Riser rated cable is required for jobs where cable is going to be run vertically up multistory buildings in floor to floor wiring riser.

 

Q) What does Plenum rated cable mean?
A) Plenum rated cable is required for jobs where cable is going to be run in return air space. In most buildings this area is above drop ceilings or under raised floors. The materials required to pass plenum standards are much more expensive than non-plenum-rated designs.

Q) What's the difference between the Genesis Structured Cabling Systems Extended Product Warranty* & Application Assurance Program and the Genesis Quality Performance Guarantee?
A)The Genesis Warranty* applies to the Category 5, 5e, Enhanced & 6 PLUS connectivity hardware (specified above*) when purchased and used in the United Sates of America with Genesis Category 5, 5e, Enhanced and 6 PLUS cables. The warranty* is applicable only on the original site of installation from the date of the Project Registration Certificate issued by Genesis. The Genesis Guarantee offers complete satisfaction with installations using Genesis cable. If any Genesis Cable Products product fails to perform to our specifications, we will replace the cable --- three spools or boxes for one.
